What I have learned!

I have learned a lot from working with blogs. This is not my first blog but I still took a lot way from working on this one. For instance, before this blog I had no idea how to add the widget clustrmap. I knew how to add other widgets but this one was a little more difficult. I eventually ended up figuring it out in the end but it is nice to know that I can do it in the future. I have also learned that you have to put in a lot of effort in order to keep a blog alive and going!

Blog could be a very useful tool for my future work in that I can create a blog for my classroom, almost like a classroom website. If you hadn't guessed yet, I want to be a teacher. A blog would be very useful in order to update parents on what is going on in the classroom. Or it could be a blog for other teachers. For example, a blog of good lesson plans and how they worked out in the end. Either way, a blog would be very helpful with my future work.

If you want heck out my other blog, Team Robsten, you can view it here! Enjoy!

The Last Song

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks is the story of a teenage girl, Ronnie, who goes to spend the summer with her father at Wrightsville Beach. At the beginning of the summer, Ronnie is very rebellious and resents her father for her parents divorce. At that point she hasn't spoken to her father in 3 years so naturally she does not want to spend the summer with him. But the summer she had dreaded ends up being a learning opportunity for her! She learns about faith, family, and love.

The story is very good and you WON'T be able to set it down, I promise. It is a cute love story but it is also so much more than that. It shows the rebuilding of a relationship between a father and daughter. I must warn you though, you will need a box of tissues when reading this novel. There are a few parts in the book that are just devastating! I'm not much of a crier when it comes to reading but this is one where I balled like a baby!

Plus, they made a movie based on this book! I always like books that have movies because I like to see how it translates from what I had imagines when reading. Its always interesting to see whats different and whats the same from what I pictured.

If you like a love story but nothing too sappy, this is the book for you! I promise you wont regret reading this. It is one you will want to re-read several times. It is such a sweet story! And it made my top 5 favorite books list!

Don't believe me?  Check out RedHannah91's review of The Last Song! She gives it a 4.5 out of 5. Not to shabby! Enjoy!

The Secret Circle Series

I absolutely love The Secret Circle series by L.J. Smith! There are three separate stories in the series so far but are made up in only two books. However, a third book is set to be released at the end of March of this year. The original books are a little older. They were released back in 1992 but that does not make them any less good.

The series is about a circle of witches who originate from the original witches of Salem. The series follows a newcomer to the circle, Cassie, who before moving to the small town had no idea of her lineage or the powers she possessed. It follows her and her circle through the up and downs (mostly downs) of being teenage witches and the challenges they must face.

Not only is this a sci fi series but it also has romance for those who like a little love story (my personal favorite). Overall, it is a very good read that I would recommend to anyone who loves a little action and romance.

I am going to be honest. The only reason I began reading this series was because I am a big fan of the new show they are based from on the CW, The Secret Circle. I will say that the show and the book are very different though. In some aspects they are the same but in some they are very different. But I like the changes that were made when they created the show which is surprising because I usually like the book version better. Just because I like the changes that were made, it doesn't really take anything away from the book series and how much I like it. In fact, some things about the show I hate and wish they hadn't changed. Like the way they killed off a main character in the show who was a major character in the books (and didn't die!). Then again, it works out because they introduced a new character (never in the books) to the show who I LOVE. So I'm a little torn on some of the changes. Either way, they are both two separate pieces of work that I enjoy!

I am very happy that I decided to read the series because it is very good and I was not able to set it down. I read both books in 3 days. I can't wait for the release of the new book in the series. As soon as I have read it, I will let you all know what I thought of it! I have high expectations based on these two so hopefully it lives up to that!

Don't believe me? Check out Gary's Review of the Series here! He gives some pretty good scores for all 3 stories.

Have you read the series? If so, did it make your top 5 favorite books? Have any of you seen the show on the CW yet? If no to both, has my review made you want to check out either? Which one? Let me know the answers to these questions in the comments below! I look forward to reading your responses!

Review of "Blogging Between the Lines" article by Dana Hull

Blogging has turned into a huge hit across the internet over the years. If you search the internet, I am sure you can find a blog about pretty much anything. There are blogs about anything from such things as politics to silly things like my blog, reading! In the article, Blogging Between the Lines, Dana Hull sheds some light on blogging and its role in the media.  With blogging, people are able to get across their opinions and thoughts on certain subjects/issues. Blogging allows people to express these thoughts and opinions without having to worry about receiving consequences. Sure, they can still receive negative feedback from viewers but, not have any real repercussions for their opinions.  However, this freedom brings into play a lot of issues when dealing with the media.

With the mainstream media now involved with the blogging world, the issue of what society can do to protect certain people such as journalists (for example) from getting in trouble for their comments on blogs. For example, Perez Hilton’s blog is a prime example of this. What laws are set up to protect him from being sued for harsh comments against celebrities? Should people who do this for a living (Journalists, Perez Hilton etc.) have some sort of standard that they are held to compared to just a regular blogger like me just because they have a large public following and I don't? One thing that I learned from this article is that even though blogging should be fun, you should still keep in mind how your blog affect your viewers who read what you are writing. For example, would your post offend someone? So you can be carefree, to an extent. Have fun with your blog but, not to the point where it negatively affects others. Hull's article also made me see that because of the laws, how they are not very strict, that are in place for blogs published in the media that you have to view a lot of blogs out there as opinions, not facts. Hull's article was very insightful and really made me think. It made me think about aspects that I hadn’t considered before and I have been blogging (creating and following) for years. So this blog was very eye-opening and I recommend everyone read it, especially if you are a blogger!

Welcome to my blog!

Welcome everyone to my blog, Live Love Read! The purpose of this blog is to talk about my favorite books that I have read or am currently reading.

I haven't always loved reading. In fact, I used to hate it when I was in Middle School and High School. Especially when it was required! As I have gotten older though, I have really come to love reading. It has become a hobby to me rather than a chore and I am so grateful for that. I never knew that I would love reading as much as I do. I thought it was hopeless for me. I still have trouble with certain readings but, if it is a genre that I enjoy I have no problems. If its really good, I find myself not able to set it down. I have actually stayed awake an entire night to finish a book because I just couldn't set it down! That book actually made it on my top 5 list to the right! And that book is The Last Song which I will be discussing in a future post.

I have also had experiences where It takes me a long time to get into a book. I have to read several chapters before it picks up but once it does I cant set it down either. One of those made it to my list as well. That one is Water For Elephants which will also be discussed in a future post!

My favorite genres are romance! I also like books with sci fi and romance in one (as you can see from my top five list!)

Right now, I am finishing off The Secret Circle series. A new book in the series is set to be released in March so I hope to read that one as well because right now I cant set down these books! I have only a few chapters left and I began the series a few days ago! Its crazy how I can go from hating reading to reading an entire series in three days. If I didn't have to sleep, I probably would have finished these books in the first day! I hope to discuss them later on as well. I will probably wait until I have read the new one though for a complete review.

Did any of my top 5 make it on your favorites list?? If not, what are your favorites? Have you always loved reading or has it grown on you like it has me? Leave me a comment with the answers to these questions! I am interested in seeing yours responses!
